Two Days to Understand and Act
Founded in 2005 at UNESCO in honor of the United Nations’ 60th anniversary, the Earth University is a unique space in Europe dedicated to reflection, debate, and sharing on the major challenges threatening our planet, life, and society.
Open to all, the Earth University aims to inspire and encourage action among citizens for a better life and ecological and human harmony.
This gathering of collective intelligence brings together all citizens, prominent international figures, scientists, business leaders, intellectuals, politicians, members of associations, farmers, artists, activists, and spiritual leaders. During the debates, these participants share their expertise, experiences, visions, and, most importantly, their solutions with the audience.
Celebrating 20 Years of the Earth University on March 14-15, 2025, with the Theme "Nature = Future"
For this new edition, the Earth University will be held in Paris at UNESCO Headquarters, at Mediawan, and at the Ministry of Health, with the Office Français de la Biodiversité as the event’s patron.
For this special anniversary edition, Earth University has chosen the theme as an equation: Nature = Future. This framing underscores the urgent and absolute necessity of reconnecting humanity with nature, revealing both the clarity and complexity of the equation facing our civilization. Historically, we have mistakenly believed that breaking free from nature demonstrated intelligence and power, when in reality, it has made us vulnerable. Beyond the staggering and alarming figures on climate change and the sharp loss of biodiversity, we are now experiencing the direct consequences of this fundamental disconnection.
Our future must be rethought and rebuilt from now on, in alignment with life. The resolution of this equation is essential for everyone and will be at the core of Earth University.
On March 14-15, 2025, dive into the "Nature = Future" challenges through five unique paths:
• The Universal path, open to various topics and accessible to all
• The Biodiversity focusing on issues related to life and biodiversity in connection with Nature = Future, in partnership with the Office Français de la Biodiversité (OFB)
• The Parliament of Future Entrepreneurs, a path for economic transformation and change, in partnership with MACIF
• The International path, offering a global perspective with international speakers and sessions that are translated and broadcast live
• Junior Earth University, a one-day program for 6-12-year-olds and their parents; these educational sessions aim to engage children in awareness, understanding, and action through concrete steps
The Cercles de la terre
The Cercles de la terre are collective intelligence sessions that allow experts to collaboratively prepare key topics for Earth University. These meetings aim to shape future sessions and structure part of the Earth University’s program around select priorities. During the preparation for Earth University’s 20th-anniversary edition on March 14-15, 2025, three major topics were prioritized and explored in three Earth Circles, with summaries available for download :
> « Régénérons nos villes pour mieux les habiter »
> « Changeons nos modes de vie, soignons l’humanité »
> « L'Intelligence artificielle, générative ou régénérative ? »
These thematic meetings took place between April and July 2024 and gathered about fifty people who are directly involved, specialized, and committed to addressing these challenges.
A Special Anniversary Edition Guided by the Petit Prince ®
The « Petit Prince » will watch over the 20th-anniversary edition of Earth University, with gratitude to the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation for allowing their world to be part of our project. The 2025 edition of Earth University will embody a collective reflection on the future of our planet and its inhabitants, with the conviction that every individual, every young person, should have the opportunity to play an active role in building a more sustainable and just future.
